Architectural and design magazine Volume Zero had released the winners of their Tiny Houses Design Competition 2017, a contest that lets the designers to create functional, portable houses of their liking.
The tiny house design movement celebrates the innovation of maximum usable space in minimum footprint, matching the modern day need for sustainable housing, making each design have the participants own personal essence and touch points.
Tiny house design competition received entries from across the world, the winner were evaluated by a panel of prestigious jurors from different countries. The panel includes Abraham Cota Parades, Andrew Patterson, Didier Ryan, Md.Rafiq Azam and Sameep Padora.
First place: Home.rar
Chan Ting LeungHenry, Lau Yuan LeiFlora and Yuen Tung Hing
The team is led by Chan Ting Leung Henry and his team mate Lau yuan lei flora. They arrived at a solution that saves space by compressing unusable space and overlapping areas to increase spatial quality. Their work draws influence from cubism.
Second place: Autonomous
Succinct is the word that best describes their work. On the contrary the complexity of the interiors and easy functionality along with clean Scandinavian vibes works in their favor.
Third place: Golpo baksho
Debaditya Maity, Anwesh Das and Soumyajit Bagchi
‘art imitates life’ is the motto of the design. Their ingenious design and attention to detail from the materials used to the client profiling is well thought of. The solution is very client centric and innovative.
