MuseLAB is an end-to-end design studio embracing the viewpoint; that every space or product created embodies integrity coupled with the same care, skill and attention to detail. Driven by the immense passion of creating unique and highly customized designs, Huzefa Rangwala and Jasem Pirani founded the studio in 2012. Out of the many interesting projects that have been executed by MuseLAB, Wok This Way has redefined the concept of street food dining.

The basic idea developed for every quick service restaurant is its fast food cuisine and the minimal or no table service arrangement. Food however isn’t the only criterion that captures the attention of every food enthusiast. The spatial planning and design contribute equally towards making any quick service restaurant a real eye-catcher.

Focused on serving healthy traditional Asian dishes with innovative combinations of locally sourced seasonal ingredients, Wok This Way is a quick service restaurant designed by MuseLAB with a vibrant charm.

A very simple brief was drawn out in order to bring together a fast food restaurant infused with a genuine charm. The aim was to give the quick service restaurant the feel of a café.

The materials adopted through the course of the design are primarily for utility. They have been left in their very own respective natural hues or have been finished as per basic construction standards with a dash of colour. The surfaces and elements implemented here are desired to gradually wear-in with use and take on familiarity and comfort over time.

The external façade has been put together using aluminium sections varying in sizes. These ready aluminium sections highlight the main entrance of the restaurant as it stands out against the hustle and bustle of Lower Parel.

The birch ply constructed communal table and the on display kitchen are the two elements around which the entire space has been structured.

The furniture and light fixtures have been accordingly designed to commemorate the experience of food production.

Wok This Way offers a warm and light hearted experience to all its clients as it welcomes the informal notion of bringing street quality food into a restaurant like space.
