This residence is blend of contemporary minimalism with subtle regional and traditional influences. It's designed for functionality, privacy and modern aesthetics, with just enough warmth and cultural references to make it feel personal and grounded.

The facade of the building is boxy, rectilinear form, typical of contemporary urban design. The facade is largely monochrome and the wooden texture used for the gates adds warmth and contrast to the stark white structure.

The entrance follows a symmetrical and axial design leading the eye directly to the ornately carved chetinad wooden door (150 years old refurbished and reused), there is also two traditional stone pillars in the sitout. The red terracotta jali wall enhances the cross ventilation and privacy while allowing diffused sunlight inside. Both the ceiling and wall jali work are modular, geometric and locally inspired craftsmanship and design choice.

In front of the courtyard is the traditional wooden pillars(refurbished and reused) and swing ,typical chetinad tradition. The tree and patterned tiles forms the visual centerpiece bringing the nature into the living space. A striking floating wooden staircase with black steel framing rises against a red brick accent wall which creates a bold modern contrast.
