This elegant 3BHK apartment, located in the city of Indore, is a modest veneer house adorned with unique design details. The client brief essentially focused on having a modern design with minimal tones and clean lines, using the timeless yet modern veneer finish carried all throughout the house. From chair handle detail to the overall functionality and design of the space, we have created a space that is both practical and aesthetic.
The house welcomes you with a drawing space which affirms the sublime essence of this house. This corner serves best for a quick coffee before leaving the house. A perfect balance can be seen with white-washed walls; veneer finishes and glass table tops used in the common area. Something unanticipated and playful dwells in every nook and cranny, be it a swing in the balcony or a rotating TV stand in the living room. An upholstered L- shaped sofa on one side strikes the perfect chord with a wooden dining table with glass top on the other side. The bespoke, linear ceiling hanging light emanates a soft glow and creates a perfect ambience in the dining area.
The partially open kitchen with undertones of grey, anchored to one side of the dining and living space sitting across the office and the guestroom, is the heart of the home. The goal of the design was to create a connection between the public spaces and expand the visual contact within the home and in the use of the kitchen. The kitchen has been designed for shared experiences. For both, while preparation of meals as well as during everyday lunches and dinners. The extension of the kitchen counter towards the dining side serves as a breakfast counter.
Complying with vastu, a niche was created in the common area which catered as the Mandir for the house. Our client requested for the mandir to be the most beautifully designed space and we did just that. It was envisioned as a space that stands out in this entire apartment. With arches in the background and a subtle colour tone, the mandir adds conviviality, warmth, light and a traditional touch to the apartment. Our client was very keen regarding her vision for this space and it turned out exactly how they wanted it - calm and positive.
Attached to the mandir space is a simple and spacious home office. In this sophisticated office space designed for a lawyer, one can see how the finely-tuned elegance reigns over supremeness. The aesthetics of this space revels in sumptuous, brown tones of the veneer. Sitting across the open kitchen is the guest bedroom which is a cozy room designed to make the guests feel welcomed at this home. We have optimized the fenestration by adding a seating to adore the rising sun. This room exudes repose and warmth, a feeling akin to that of a welcoming home. The clean moldings on the wall account for a design detail hinting towards a simple neo-classical architecture style, designed to add a personality to this room. The sleek wardrobe handles accentuate the veneer shutters of this unornamented wardrobe.
Celebrating the modern architecture is the master bedroom of this house. This room is an epitome of refined and stylized simplicity with its modernistic approach. It is functional and detail-oriented with immaculate design details that highlight in every space. A fabric headboard against the backdrop of fluted panels adds a different texture to this space along with the bedside reading lights and a small bar unit. A waterproof, outdoor fabric layered chair sits perfectly in the balcony to enjoy your morning tea.
The house is a complete culmination of modern design with a touch of veneer. The light tones with additional accents of warmth, darker finishes and textures add depth and dimension to the space. The complimentary materials and tones work well within the home and are in conjunction with one another. All this sums up this luxurious and exquisite apartment design.
