Allowing the buzz of the plush neighborhood high-street. the vibrant yet rustic palette of the house builds an eclectic material body that provides for a variety of moods to co-exist. an aesthetic straddled in small-town rusticity with the modish flair of Pune, owing to the roots of the client originally from a small town in Maharashtra.
An important design intervention was planning a multi-purpose room by demolishing the guest room walls ensuring an even more airy and flowing space of a more mixed-use potential for the young family, a convertible hobby room for a major part of the year, and a guest room otherwise.
Handmade cement tile flooring along with a running exposed brick wall and arched doorways navigate the visual aesthetics in the house. The tasteful use of sage green and terracotta red alongside a muted cement wall finish and bare white rafter ceiling balance out the tonal quality in the house.
Refurbished teakwood furniture, organic fabric upholstery, an old-school wrought iron chandelier, hand-painted artwork of Indian origin and a dash of indoor greens fill up the space organically holding on to its rooted value.
