Ahmedabad villa is a 4000sq.ft home for a young couple located in the midst of the city of Ahmedabad. Since their families are settled abroad, they had to have a home that welcomes them warmly. The client called for an elegant yet maintenance-free house.

The villa was a part of an existing gated community project. On visiting the site, we decided to alter the room sizes aligned with the client’s comfort and requirements in mind. We looked into the project as per our designing strategies and made the required changes to the existing spatial configuration and carved out spaces that would be a perfect fit for the required functions.

Spaces throughout the house are marked with elements that would be soothing and provide warmth at the same moment. Upon entering the villa, one is welcomed by a beautiful garden on one side. The entrance foyer of the house is adorned by Artwork that draws you into the space. The entrance foyer takes one to the Double Height Living Room of the house. The Design of the space stays true to the brief provided by the clients reflecting simplistic ideals and oozes warmth. The Architect has purposefully designed the space around a massive artwork with acts as a centerpiece to the entire space.  The Living room is flanked by the staircase on one side that connects the ground floor with the first floor. The Staircase well houses the elegant puja room finished in marble stone on multiple levels. The back panel gets a grove treatment to its marble cladding whereas the surface above it has Mother of Pearls inlayed in all its glory.

The House also sports a family room for more intimate experience sits right next to the staircase on the other end of the floorplate acting as a buffer between the public and the private spaces. The use of pastel colors on the walls in the Family Room and throughout the home showcases the youthfulness of its users. The space gets soaked with ample natural light coming from the windows facing the terrace garden which is adorned by a beautiful outdoor sitting space.

The Dining area of the house finds itself at the center of the circulation within the space connecting other spaces on the floor i.e Living room, The family room, the kitchen, the staircase, and the Master bedroom.

One enters the first floor through the common passage at the end of the staircase where ‘Rodinia in black’ standstill in the orange background adding to the beauty of the console in veneer. Since the passage area is mostly bare a bold interesting color was used in the painting to highlight the space. The First floor houses Three Bedrooms, Main Master Bedroom, and two Guest bedrooms. The Spaces house is crafted using a single tone of wood & veneer, to break the monotony of the tone the Architects have added a pop of color in each space with elements of carpet, furniture, curtain, or artworks.
