Nestled in Perinthalmanna, Kerala, a bustling town adorned with vivid Gulmohar trees and embracing the majestic Western Ghats on its borders, this 2900 sq. ft. haven is more than just a home—it's a sanctuary designed to melt away the stress of the day and foster moments of pure relaxation and connection for its inhabitants.

Crafted with a limited budget of 50 lakhs excluding furnitures, mindful of the discerning needs of the working couple, Aman' embraces openness and minimalism, offering a seamless flow between its four bedrooms and inviting living spaces. Walls are kept to a minimum, inviting the lush surroundings of nature to become an integral part of everyday life.

Conceived with the vision of providing a respite from the chaos of everyday life, Aman' welcomes its inhabitants with open arms. As the sun rises in the east, casting its golden rays upon the kitchen, the homemaker is greeted with a warm embrace, setting the tone for a day filled with light and energy.

The double-height living area, strategically positioned to face north and further blanketed by a layer of lush cat's-claw climbers, invites soft natural light throughout the day while also serving as a refuge from the scorching noon sun in the south, creating a melodious balance of light and shade.

Positioned on the west side, the stair unit serves a dual purpose. It protects the interior spaces from the harsh evening sun and facilitates the escape of hot air. The stairwell features a circular opening in the roof, creating an intriguing interplay of light and shadow while allowing the hot air to escape and just the right amount of sunlight to filter through. A lush plantation of elephant ear plants within the stairwell acts as the lungs of the house, purifying the air and making a bold statement with their characteristic large leaves. The stairs, crafted from steel and wood, lend a lightweight and airy feel, contributing to the home's double-height volume.

The master bedroom, located on the southwest side, is shielded from the west sun with a study cum utility area, acting as a buffer, reducing heat gain while ensuring sufficient light through a lean skylight. This skylight casts fascinating patterns on the walls as the sun sets, adding a dynamic visual element to the space.

The interiors of "Aman" are adorned with a curated collection of wall art and hangings, predominantly made of terracotta, celebrating the rich tradition of terracotta vessels. These pieces enhance the aesthetic appeal and also connect the residents to the cultural heritage of the region.
