Flowing seamlessly from the living room, the dining area exudes minimalistic sophistication marked by bold geometry. Rattan-backed wooden chairs and a monolithic cement finished dining table with a rounded edge take centre stage. The dining experience is set against a backdrop of a rustic grey wall with a statement making wall clock that speaks the table’s design language.
In the corner, stands a repurposed 75 year old cupboard that serves as an open crockery and bar unit, while the reclaimed doors of the cupboard forms the focal point of the lighting feature above. The nature-loving owners fuel this passion in a standee balcony filled with lush greenery that brings a feeling of zen and calm to the space. The juxtaposition of old and new, rustic and modern, lends an air of eclectic charm to the apartment, inviting exploration and discovery at every turn.

A solid wood archway with a pop of yellow celebrates the transition from the dining to the kitchen. Once you enter the compact kitchen, clever surgical interventions enhance both form and function. Opening a part of the shared wall creates visual connectivity and enables easy conversation. It also serves as a perfect ledge for drinking water and an extended service counter whil entertaining.
The original builder-plan, which included the refrigerator inside the kitchen, was modified to accommodate an expansive counter in its place. A deco-inspired tile backsplash brings brightness and ease of maintenance. Every detail, from the custom shelving units to the modified backsplash, speaks to a harmonious blend of practicality and design aesthetics.
Art niche of Anamnesis by Triple O Studio
A transitionary passage leading to two bedrooms which was originally occupied by a hand-wash area has been reimagined as the most personal corner of the home - a unit to accommodate the needs of the furry housemates. The perfect background for this scene is a commissioned bespoke art piece by Uttara Chockalingam. Incorporating elements of nostalgia and artistic expression through a masterful blend of color, texture, and emotion, the art-turned-wallpaper serves as a window to the moments and memories of their past life. This cherished focal point seamlessly integrates a jade-green storage with custom-built shelving units that offer ample space for pet essentials.

Simple yet elegant, the master bedroom exudes tranquility and sophistication. An open canopy four-poster bed commands attention with a green fluted headboard wall providing a serene backdrop. Detailed sliding storage units offer dedicated space for every item, making the dressing experience thoroughly enjoyable. Adding to this scene are the ubiquitous plants and a rocking chair to soak in the spectacle of the river view making this room a true haven.

Guest Bedroom of Anamnesis by Triple O Studio
Crafted to transcend conventional boundaries, the guest room seamlessly transitions between a place to sleep, work, entertainment zone and storage area. A colourful photo wall of favourite people and memories beckons as one enters the room. Through thoughtful design and purposeful innovation, the designers transformed a 60 year old cupboard into a multifunctional marvel of a wardrobe and space divider, while the back panel doubles as a gallery.
The sleep area also offers a raised carpeted platform that offers comfort for their canine companions with a neutral color palette and strategic storage solutions creating a serene and immersive environment for guests. The tying element and highlight of the room is a gorgeous textural bamboo mat that spans the entire ceiling. Not only does the bamboo ceiling serve as a striking visual focal point, it produces wonderful acoustics and creates a sense of intimacy and warmth within the room. Whether it’s a safe space to work from home, a cozy movie night with loved ones, or a restful night's sleep, the guest room is up for the challenge to accommodate the needs of all.

Embracing the challenge presented by the third bedroom's modest dimensions, they transformed it into a fitness haven—a place where physical well-being and aesthetic harmony converged. Through strategic design choices, including the use of wall-to-wall mirrors to create an illusion of spaciousness and a black-and-white color scheme as a subtle homage to their canine companions, the designers crafted a space that not only inspired motivation but also paid tribute to the symbiotic relationship between design and purpose. A black and white reupholstered sofa that converts to a double bed in a pinch continues the theme of maximizing functionality that is seen across the home.
Balcony of Anamnesis by Triple O Studio
Having previously lived in a house with a backyard, trees, birds and other creatures for close to a decade - the designers have taken special care to infuse this into every space, either artistically or through plants. The balcony is one such example as well. As you step into the balcony, a bright and vivid hand-painted tropical mural instantly grabs attention. The designers joined hands with a trusted artist and collaborator, Mr. Thiyagarajan, to bring this vision to life. The seating for the balcony is a lovingly restored cane sofa, one that has been a constant through the many stages of their lives.
As the eyes move upwards to the ceiling, is yet another pièce de résistance. They see an organic, sinuous and beautifully molded woven cane light feature in collaboration with Ar. Gangotri of Unraveling Architecture. The alluring fixture takes inspiration from the ocean waves and pearls, yet another homage to the sacred memories of the family and their lives by the beach. Taking the best of the past while marching towards the future. Altogether, the elements of the balcony from the wall art, light fitting and the plants, to the beautiful views, make way for an oasis of serenity in an urbanscape.
