Bombae Laser's flagship clinic and store is a revolutionary space that redefines the beauty industry. Working with a women-led business and project team, beyonddesign collaborated closely with Bombae Laser to create a series of unique, highly accessible spaces that reflect the brand's values of empowerment, community, and rebellion.
Spanning an area of 3,830 sqft, the clinic features four treatment rooms, two consultation spaces, a large reception and retail area, as well as back of house and support functions. Endowed with the responsibility of extending the voice of the brand and providing a space for their customers and community, the project does exactly that, providing a frictionless experience between hair removal as a service, product and experience.
Upon arrival, one steps into the clinic's large reception area which has been carefully designed as a space of leisure, play, and discovery. Guests can relax on comfortable sofas while admiring the cascading forest-like walls, which seamlessly integrate retail displays - allowing for multiple functions to co-exist within the space while still creating a relaxed environment. Technology integration also provides an uninterrupted user experience and removes the need for a typical manned reception. The central space is occupied by an oversized sculptural bar-café counter, made as a single element in green micro-concrete and encouraging guests to sit and interact over a cup of coffee, creating a sense of community and belonging.
The forest-like retail walls seamlessly integrate into the space, becoming the focal point, with a colonnaded effect and a dense floral background. Tree-like custom-fabricated shelves hold products, and the retail area is integrated with terrazzo wash basins to encourage customers to try products while they wait. The flooring throughout the clinic has also been carefully considered, with a change in design along the retail walls creating a subconscious path for circulation, and purple inserts adding playfulness and interest across the space. Timber boards arranged in a herringbone pattern in the retail area create a contrast with the back wall, carrying the converging theme through.
Finally, the clinic features a quiet, cosy corner that serves as a stage area and a point of focus for evening events andcommunity building.
