The approach to the plot was such that there was proper ventilation and the location of the plot has aided us a lot with that, as the plot was facing a 6m wide approach road on the eastern side with the back opening towards agricultural lands. That accompanied proper cross ventilation.

The planning was started such that it firstly full filled the client’s requirements starting with the living room and kitchen on the ground floor with a parent’s bedroom, all laid in a simple grid plan, the stair cabin was a barrier in the passage of light so the steps were exposed to the living room further a store was adjusted below the stair cabin due to lack of space.

moving towards the first floor we open up to a double height over the dining area which was locked between the master bedroom and the daughter’s bedroom with a balcony that also acted as a car porch and was turned into a terrace garden. The house was compact but the light sources were kept such that it borrowed light from outside, also an interactive space was created with the double height over the dining area.

Talking about the façade, the plot had a single road on the front, and the garden in the front added a sense of depth for the house also the front elevational mass was kept such that the slant mass on the front dynamically brought a sense of division on the elevation with cutting the other straight lines. The colors helped us attain the minimal effect, combining light greys with whites. The house was given a sense of calm by using light tones of colors all over the spaces.

The palette was kept very simple with brown veneers and grey floorings all the other elements were also done into simple plain colors, the highlighting elements were also finished with pastels and were kept to a minimum.
