Project is located on Perumbavoor, Kerala. Site area is around 14 cent. Site has a frontage of 13.75 meter. Site was linear in shape and East faced. A mango tree was located north east side , which is retained. Site is located on a calm street which is not very far from city yet doesn’t have any disturbance from city.

Client is a family of 3 members which includes husband, wife and a child. Their requirement was a 4 bhk along with 2 separate office rooms for the husband and wife and a study space for the daughter. Since the site was linear in shape they were concerned about the space and privacy in the home. In order to feel more space inside they provide a double height for the formal and family living which reduced the conjunction feel inside.

They divided the space into public semi public and private zones, so that formal living and sitout went under public zone, dining, family living, kitchen went under semi private zone and Bedrooms went under private zone. Two office room has provided on ground and first floor so that both can work accodingly. A study space has provided under the staircase for the daughter. Kitchen has designed in such a  way that easy for maintenance and a tall unit provided for the purpose of store.

Main challenge was the plot shape. Dividing the plot into the zones made the planning more easy. Providing privacy inside yet space should not feel conjunction was the main concept of the project. Minimalism was followed in interior so that easy for maintainance. Neutral colour tones has used inside the home. Colours used inside are the combination of wood, white and grey.

They were keen about the outcome of stair case. It is fully covered with tiles so that it has a solid feel and last two steps has covered with wood. Plot size was the main challenge for the design. Solid bricks for the structure. Teak wood for the windows and doors, Kitchen cabinet is made on PVC board with pu paint finish. Teak vineer has also used for some partitions.
