The roof is clad in natural clay tiles, while locally sourced palm planks were used for the ceiling to reduce heat and provide protection from heavy rains. The interior features oxide flooring, oxide plastered walls, and raw cement finishes, giving the home a distinctly rustic aesthetic. The walls are constructed with mud bricks, and stone flooring is used in key areas to emphasize the connection to nature.

MIZHI’s design celebrates the use of locally sourced and natural materials. Mahogany wood was chosen for the furniture, all custom-made to meet the family’s needs. Additionally, fixed furniture such as beds, dining tables, and seating were built into the home using stone masonry and concrete with oxide plastering, resulting in both cost efficiency and durability.
The color palette of the home reflects its natural surroundings, incorporating stone gray, cement finishes, terracotta, and mud tones. White is used sparingly, allowing the natural hues of the materials to stand out.
