Bansal’s hold great respect towards Indian traditions, values and a strong belief in Vastu Shastra (ancient science based on directions). Vastu hence is painstakingly applied in their factories and in their residences too.

The Architectural language of arched exposed brick was complemented with an Indian material palette that included flooring in black kadappa, jaisalmer and terrazzo tiles manufactured in Gujarat. This palette also helped them reduce the overall budget. Their mutual love for wood & intricate detailing to combine different materials helped them achieve a good space and décor, something that they always appreciate.

Being creative enough to create modern spaces while working on Vastu Shastra planning principles. A tight society with narrow roads and large houses on both sides has created a huge parking issue for all residents. Hence a need for good parking space for their own vehicles in a tight plot was a challenge. Limited plot size considering large indoor space requirements took away ground level open spaces hence providing open/covered sit outs throughout the built area was felt needed.

A large parking in the basement (for 5 big cars) eliminates the general parking issue and decongestes the tight available ground level open space. Covered Terraces generate relief spaces at First floor and Second floor theatre level to compensate for less sit-out spaces at ground level. A metal staircase over an exposed concrete base in the double height family area [garbha gruha] separates Formal and Private Spaces of the residence. They wish to mark the concrete grooves that get followed in the flooring to form a geometry that moves into the stair rail and also gets reflected in the double height glass & wood wall which plays as an art piece. Their USP is in picking an element /geometry and moving it through their architecture and interiors to bind them into one language.
