Every different bird has a different type of nest, their nests are the reflection of their heart and soul into making it; so is the story of our client here.

The site is a part of Residential society, a corner plot approached from the west edge of the road.

Climate, Context, and Client's brief these were the basic incentive for the completion of the project.

The Climate of India comprises a wide range of weather conditions across a vast geographic scale and varied topography. The site being located in Surat, Gujarat has a tropical savanna climate.

Every different bird has a different type of nest, their nests are the reflection of their heart and soul into making it; so is the story of our client here.

The site is a part of Residential society, a corner plot approached from the west edge of the road.

The house has been designed keeping in mind that it is not about putting together some design styles and creating an image, but rather a slow unfolding experience of place, the place where one wants to live in.

We wanted to create volumetric purity  austere, compact and in monochrome both inside and outside imparting simplicity of form, devoid of any complexities.

The west facade features a seamless envelope constructed from terracotta bricks displaying a floral pattern

In addition to the decorative element of terracotta bricks, the material is common as it allows air to flow naturally. The blocks are designed for tropical climates to promote passive ventilation and shade from harsh sunlight, while, at night, the facade acts as a lantern with internal illumination transmitted through the perforations.

The Areca Palm and the Plumeria Alba against the façade creates a significant impact in the Master Bedroom by adding dancing diffused light through the gaps in the bricks and rustling gentle swishing sound of the Areca Palm leaves and the strong fragrance of the yellow and white flowers of Plumeria Alba.

Using Terracotta as a material for the west façade of the building made us go through research regarding the properties of the material. Besides its lovely color and the fact that it maintains its good looks over time, terracotta tiles are strong, durable, and fire-resistant. Made from natural, non-toxic material, this material does not off-gas hazardous chemicals. Terracotta tiles reduce noise pollution and inner temperature by 2 degrees, keeping the inside atmosphere calm during summer days.

The living room is spacious and airy and it epitomizes clean, clutter-free seating, and lights add geometry to space. Full glass windows visually connect the indoors and the outdoors which open onto the beautiful seating on the other side which has been carefully planned. The spaces flow into each other and allow for good cross-ventilation.

The green patch in the exteriors adjoining the dining area and the kitchen brings in natural light and a splash of greenery, which makes cooking pleasurable. The kitchen is well equipped with many modern gadgets and Granite is used on the kitchen top and beautifully finished with the Copper strip thus, taking care of everything from design to installation. Where else after the sun sets, the fixture above the dining table will lit up space with a piece of art.

The master bedroom allows in lots of light with direct sunshine as it is West facing and reflected and diffused daylight from the other window. This in itself made the room appear brighter and larger and helped in both sound and heat insulation. The vibrant and vivacious color palette is used to enhance the sense of space

The son's bedroom uses younger colors with brass inlay in tiles. The artwork on the wall has a circle as its main elements as it stands for enlightenment and perfection in unity which defines the character of the occupant.

The bathroom is minimalistic in design using leather finished Granite. Insertion of a wooden box in the stone and the wooden ledge adds richness to the bathroom.
