Spread over a 500 sq. ft. area that comes together using a modest mood board of neutral tones, contemporary design materials and all sorts of pleasing aesthetics, this office in Surat by Yuvaa Architects is a gesture of simplicity depicting their core ideology of the design. Warmer in materials and bolder in impact, the office is situated in the corporate neighborhood of the diamond city.

Encasing our eyes with its simplicity yet precise details, this office has a fair play of geometric grooves at each corner that comes along as we move further in the rectangular plan. The reception area on the right of the entrance door sets up the office atmosphere in fine-tuning details with a black granite table top. The backdrop of the reception has fine grooves that move around forming a geometric pattern from top to bottom. The wall camouflages the washroom door with similar paneling making it look like a single element. The washroom is a compact space which has been designed skillfully with the utmost sense of ergonomics offering maximum comfort to the user. The muted tone of Moroccan patterned tiles creates a contrast with the terrazzo basin and the grey palette of the washroom.

As we progress in the direction towards the main cabin and the staff area, a cozy waiting area that has a small cabin on the opposite awaits us. Diffused within the earthy shades of veneer, the classic black granite draws a bold line with striking shade in the midst of the space. The salvage veneer draws a clean line pattern that creates contrast with the wooden shelf aside.  The glass partition with grid patterns and metal detailing seems like an element to break the materiality.  Rather than adding straight at the center, the designer broke the mainstream idea by placing it to the table end in a way that highlights the clean lines in a firm way.

As we enter the principal cabin, the staff area takes half of the rectangular space while the other half has been allocated to the desk and the reading corner. The principal desk is encased with a metal framework and a wooden table top to keep the warmth of the space intact while a multi-purpose seating area has been designed on the window that can be used as a reading space or model-making space. The windows have been covered with bamboo curtains that give an earthy look to the contemporary space.  A grey colour shelf has been designed just after the reading space which exuberates an eclectic look with its bold design detail of a white line that runs between the greys. This makes the piece not only aesthetic enough but adds a bold character to the furniture.

Since the principal designer has been a stone lover, he has made sure he uses it in every possible corner which radiates his love for the material. The entrance of the office has a unique amalgamation of statuario marble stone that covers the font and black Marquina marble logo creating a stellar and contemporary combination.
