The Overhang Pavilion blends simplicity, clarity, and crafted detail to create a home that feels welcoming, modern, and adaptable for a young family. The design is anchored by a striking concrete cantilever pavilion at the front, which forms a bold statement. The palette is restrained: warm timber tones, light stone/painted surfaces, and clear glazing, all framed by crisp white bands. The large multi-panel window on the left works almost like a glass “feature wall”, giving generous daylight and a more public expression.

The concentric circles emphasize the centre of the axis and create a ceremonial sense of entry, the circular carving with concentric rings contrasts with the rectilinear language of the façade, instantly drawing attention.

The clients envisioned a modern family home that felt open, warm, and easy to live in one that supported daily routines while still offering moments of delight and individuality. Their brief emphasized strong indoor - outdoor connections, abundant natural light, and spaces that encourage family togetherness without compromising privacy.

Beyond the entry, the heart of the home unfolds as a warm communal space arrayed around a versatile, sheltered courtyard. A safe oasis for children's play, tranquil yoga sessions, or quiet meditation. Large sliding doors dissolve boundaries between living spaces and the outdoors, fostering a seamless loop between the living room, kitchen, and active courtyard, making daily living feel open, flexible, and part of nature. The family’s daily experience was at the centre of every decision.

The home’s central staircase becomes its own sculptural centrepiece: a metal structure provides strength and slender lines, while marble steps offer tactile richness. The wood veneer balustrade brings a sense of warmth and craftsmanship, and the stairwell wall is peppered with framed family memories. Finishes throughout the home are timeless: natural wood cladding, elegant stone floors, and neutral tones deliver a sense of unity. Custom built-in cabinetry and well-curated furniture contribute both utility and a sense of calm. Lighting solutions mix cove, integrated, and accent styles to gently highlight textures and set the mood from morning to night.

The living room features panelled walls with a concealed door, leading quietly to the parents’ bedroom for added privacy without interrupting the room's geometric flow. They are designed with a warm, inviting look—wood tones, wall mouldings, and tropical wallpapers lend a relaxed yet elegant character. The son’s Ferrari-themed bedroom stands out with its bold wall mural above the bed, shelves lined with model cars, and furniture that’s playful and sporty, placing his interests at the forefront.
