Reserved exclusively for members and hotel guests, within the depths of Jenney's hotel lies this Underground Bar, aptly named for its clandestine allure. This subterranean sanctuary offers a  blend of classical ambiance and contemporary indulgence. Drawing inspiration from the hotel's classical design and underground location, the Underground Bar is an after-dark dining atmosphere reminiscent of an excavated cavern. Despite its rustic undertones, the bar seamlessly integrates modern elements, adding a touch of sophistication worthy of its eponymous setting.

The bar occupying a modest 1500 square feet, has been transformed into a modern-day speakeasy, tailored to cater to a discerning clientele, particularly an older generation of senior members. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a dimly lit ambiance, setting the stage for an intimate and exclusive experience.

At the entrance, a broken wall reveals a copper-clad base adorned with the bar's logo, teasing glimpses of the hidden bar behind .The logo employs a simple typography play using the first two letters of "Underground," 'u' and 'n,' which appear as inverted versions of each other. A line indicating ground level is positioned between 'u' and 'n.'

Concealed behind the entrance wall lies the 12-foot diameter dance floor, with an adjoining DJ counter. Its dull concentric rings and brass inlay add a distinct flair to the space. Low-height jack-arched ceilings, stone cladding, undulating flows, and cracked and broken walls reveal glimpses of lit-up copper.

The two main materials used in the interiors are stone tiles and copper. The absence of windows or any natural light is compensated by broken walls exposing copper lit surfaces through the stone walls. The light reflecting leaves a yellow-orange light washed  interiors.

The layout  navigates the constraints of space, with the main bar situated at the north end, offering ample seating and an inviting atmosphere  towards the dance floor. Towards the south, cozy tables and private lounges beckon guests to unwind. For those seeking respite from the bustle, a smoking room and toilets are conveniently located outside the main bar area.

The entire lighting scheme enhances the bar's mystique ambience, transitioning from a warmer, ambient glow during early evening hours to vibrant neon hues for late-night revelry. In essence, the Underground Bar transcends the basic, offering a journey  to escape the outside world and immerse themselves in a truly exclusive experience, both sensorial and tangible.
