Their foundational design principle revolves around encasing interior with tropical essence. Their clients, an NRI couple, aimed to craft an opulent ambiance in their Poonkunnam, Thrissur apartment. Client's main request is for an interior adorned with golden tones to exude richness while creating a feeling of expansiveness. Emphasizing a touch of luxury, all spaces should incorporate golden elements. The design must seamlessly integrate functional and aesthetic aspects. Last but certainly not least, their request was for the apartment to establish a connection with nature by creating a tropical ambience.

Confronted with the spatial constraints, a characteristic of apartment living and acknowledging the client's aspiration for a touch of nature, their strategy was to infuse tropical elements into their design philosophy. To achieve this, they have to strategically incorporate elements reminiscent of lush, natural settings. Need to orchestrate this ambiance by seamlessly weaving in the aspects of tropical nature. Intentional placement of colors, textures, lighting arrangements, and greenery became their artistic tools.

The design process commenced with a meticulous analysis of the client's brief and extensive research on tropical modernism. Typically, tropical styles convey a cozy and informal atmosphere. Their challenge lay in crafting a luxurious space with a tropical theme in a confined apartment space. To accomplish this, they deliberately integrated elements evoking lush, natural environments.

To temper the boldness of golden hues, they introduced a harmonious blend of pastel tones infused with the vibrant hues of the tropics. They selected colors that harmonize with brass, ultimately settling on mustard yellow as their accent color. Subsequently, the design evolved with a strategic interplay of lines and voids. For instance, the concealed slatted door leading to the Pooja room serves a dual purpose as an accent wall while maintaining its functional role. Introducing golden metal elements added a touch of opulence, carefully balanced by the use of sleek sections. The tropical theme seamlessly extends throughout the entire apartment, from the living spaces to bedrooms and the kitchen.

Vibrant mustard yellow dominates the living and kitchen areas, this bold hue is artfully balanced by wooden finishes in the living dining space and soothing pastel finishes in the bedrooms, creating a tranquil and serene atmosphere. Every piece of furniture was meticulously tailored to align with the client's tastes, resulting in a seamless integration that harmonizes the entire space.

In conclusion, the home encases a tropical essence inside it, perfectly complementing their demands serving as a vacation home for the NRI couple. Each element, from hues to greenery was thoughtfully selected, contributing to an inviting and serene atmosphere, evoking the tranquility of a tropical haven despite spatial limitations.
