Nestled amidst the serene hills of Shindawne, on the picturesque outskirts of Pune, God’s Blessings is a thoughtfully crafted weekend farmhouse designed by Studio Musings, led by Principal Architect Krushna Sanas. This tranquil retreat embodies the client’s vision of an escape from the hustle of city life—an abode where one reconnects with nature, embraces slow living, and enjoys organic farming.

The site, surrounded by undulating terrain and scenic roads, opens up to stunning views of a large lake. This natural setting deeply informed the architectural approach. The design strategically places a bar and barbecue beside a waterbody to frame the lake view, offering a peaceful space for social gatherings and sunset reflections.

At the heart of the 4500 sq. ft. farmhouse lies a central courtyard featuring a graceful Chafa tree (Plumeria Alba).This space acts as a soul-centering zone, open to the sky and brimming with birdsong, bridging the built environment with nature. Surrounding this core are generous living areas, an open kitchen, and restful bedrooms. Each bedroom is designed with a private courtyard, complemented by open-air showers and jacuzzis that enhance the feeling of sanctuary.

To the west, a deck extends into a manicured lawn and swimming pool—perfect for soaking in golden-hour hues over the hills. On the northern side, a carefully designed pathway leads through the organic farming zone, symbolizing the client's passion for sustainability and homegrown food.

The entrance is marked by a grotto, creating a spiritual threshold that imparts positive energy to the home. Sustainability is central to the material palette: red bricks, Mangalore tiles, and an abundance of greenery both inside and out.

Despite facing challenges such as limited local labor availability and harsh seasonal changes, the project came to life over the course of a year through persistent site visits, meticulous supervision, and the resilience of the workforce.

More than just a weekend home, God’s Blessings is a multi-generational haven. It is a place where children play freely, grandparents share stories under the open sky, and parents find joy in cooking and unwinding. Whether it’s harvesting vegetables, enjoying a lakeside barbeque, or simply listening to the rustle of leaves and birdcalls, this farmhouse offers an idyllic blend of comfort, nature, and togetherness.

This project exemplifies how thoughtful design can turn a vision into a living, breathing experience—one that nourishes the body, mind, and soul.
