The living area had to balance multiple functions. The client wanted comfortable seating for seven, a projector setup, and space to host. At the same time, he had several devices--projector systems, PS5, Apple TV--that needed to stay accessible but out of sight. We designed a custom seating unit with built-in storage to accommodate these, which also doubles up as additional seating. Above the seating unit, we placed an abstract painting of the Kaaba, framed in a custom, minimal detail. This was a personal inclusion for the client, subtly anchoring the space with a sense of familiarity and grounding, while still aligning with the overall restraint of the home.
This, along with a three-seater sofa and two armchairs, completes the requirement. All seating pieces were custom-designed to feel light and understated, avoiding bulky forms. The center table was intentionally kept raw--crafted in wood with a black finish, retaining its natural dents and imperfections to align with the overall material honesty of the space.

The dining area was imagined as a flexible, social zone rather than a fixed setup. The client wanted this space to feel open enough for small gatherings, even dancing. To allow that flexibility, we designed a foldable dining table that can be tucked away against the wall, transforming into a compact counter when not in use.
Behind the dining, we introduced a wall artwork composition from Caluttan art Gallery--two black canvases paired with a single red piece. Since the overall palette of the home is muted and calm, this was a conscious decision to bring in a subtle contrast and a bit of energy without overpowering the space. Above, a suspended light in soft white silk adds a gentle layer without drawing too much attention.
Across the home, we softened the architecture by introducing rounded edges and curves, making the space feel more fluid and less rigid. The ledge created after opening up the kitchen wall now also houses the client’s DJ setup, naturally integrating his personal interest into the space. The overall palette stays restrained--limewashed cream tones, warm light wood furniture, and soft fabrics layered over the grey flooring. Subtle accents, like the patterned dining tiles and printed chair backs, add just enough variation to keep the space from feeling flat. As you enter through the passage, an arched opening with soft curves sets the tone for what follows--simple, open, and quietly expressive.

The original kitchen entry was smaller and defined by a door. As part of opening up the space, we widened the entry and chose to remove the door altogether, introducing a soft arched opening instead. This not only improves movement but also visually connects the kitchen with the living area.
Given its visibility from the main space, the kitchen was designed to stay minimal and cohesive with the overall palette. We kept it simple--only addressing essential storage and functions--using a combination of white and light wood finishes to maintain continuity with the rest of the home.

This room was envisioned as a flexible space--used occasionally for guests, but primarily as a work-from-home area. The client was clear that he didn’t want it to feel like a typical bedroom, so we approached it with a more neutral, non-residential character. Instead of a bed-centric layout, we designed a wall storage unit that combines closed sections for essentials with open pockets to display artefacts, keeping it functional yet visually light.
To make the space more usable for everyday moments, we introduced a pair of wooden armchairs with a side table--creating a comfortable corner for conversations or a quiet coffee break. The wall behind this was highlighted with a custom wooden artwork, adding depth without overwhelming the room. We carried a beige tone across the ceiling, finished with subtle black molding along the edges to define the volume of the space. A statement floor lamp from LMNOH, with its handcrafted form and textured surface, completes the setting--blending in seamlessly with the overall material palette.

The master bedroom was imagined as a quiet, zen-like retreat within the home. The client wanted a space that felt calm and uncluttered, with a simple bed and a comfortable lounger to unwind. We consciously avoided a storage bed, choosing instead to keep it minimal and visually light. To compensate and subtly anchor the bed zone, we highlighted the flooring beneath with a patterned detail--allowing the bed to sit as a defined element within the room. The overall palette stays soft and muted. The ceiling is finished in a textured wallpaper in a warm cream tone, bordered with black molding to give it a subtle definition. The wardrobe follows a similar language, done in light wood with textured shutters and custom black handles that act as quiet accents.
To balance the lighter tones, the bed and headboard were kept in a darker finish, grounding the space. The lounger, upholstered in a black-and-white striped fabric, adds just the right amount of contrast--breaking the monotony without overpowering the room. “In the evenings, the room comes alive with soft natural light filtering through the curtains, casting layered shadows that gently animate the otherwise calm space”

The toilets area was our chance to break the monotony. While the rest of the home stays calm and restrained, In one of them we introduced a soft pastel green with beige, paired with black fittings for contrast. The client, being fond of his cats, wanted this space to feel a little more playful--so we added customized quirky artworks, giving it just the right amount of character without going overboard.
At its core, the project is about clarity--of space, material, and the way one chooses to live within it. Titled House of En, the home draws from the Japanese concept of En--a sense of connection, continuity, and quiet completeness--reflecting a space that feels both intentional and deeply personal.
