The words ‘Mar’ and ‘Selva’ translating to ‘Sea’ & ‘Forest’ are an ode to Goa's coastal allure and lush foliage that envelops the villas.

Nestled within the enchanting woods of Goa, a gated community of holiday homes stands as a testament to the philosophy of wabi-sabi, embracing the beauty of imperfection and transience.

Inspired by Australian influences, the developers envisioned minimalistic yet monumentally scaled villas, embodying a balance of simplicity and grandeur. The architects, in their extroverted yet subtle approach, designed spaces with floor-to-ceiling heights reaching 14 feet, and 20 feet for pitched roofs, creating an awe-inspiring sense of volume that captivates residents.

The entrance to each villa unfolds through the inviting pool and pool deck, leading into the living area featuring a sunken lounge. Strategically designed, this sunken lounge not only imparts a feeling of grandeur but also serves as a media room with an inbuilt projector and retractable blinds, providing an immersive entertainment experience.

In the four-bedroom configuration, one bedroom on the ground floor boasts a private landscape and an outdoor bath, while the others on the first floor offer panoramic views of the jungle through large framed windows. This layout ensures a serene and relaxing atmosphere within the villa.

Adhering to the wabi-sabi philosophy, materials were carefully curated. An exposed 55 feet by 25 feet concrete wall dominates the visual landscape, complemented by the fine textures of terrazzo flooring, sycamore maple wood, Indian patent stone, cane, and a palette of pastel colors. These elements harmoniously come together, creating an aesthetic that resonates with the essence of simplicity and imperfection.

The bespoke light installations throughout the project are a testament to the meticulous consideration of the villa's aesthetics. Each element, from design to material choice, contributes to an immersive and harmonious living experience, where residents find solace in the embrace of nature and the thoughtful embodiment of wabi-sabi principles.
