This is the office project for Space Tattva Design Studio. Previously, it was an administrative office for engineering machining company located in the industrial estate of city of Vadodara in Gujarat, India. In the thick of old industrial factories, the studio space occupies a part of the big industrial workshop as a result of reusing the space that invites new ideas and collaborations. The original structure of 9.1m x 3.6m was divided into 3 different areas based on the existing structural elements.  On the east face of the studio is the large glass partition, 2.5m wide and 2.4m high, outside of which stands a tall East Indian walnut tree bringing in filtered morning sunrays. The glass textured partition hold green pots in the insides which ensures that every passerby or newcomer to this space is greeted with a touch of green and a backdrop of blue hues.

The space has a height of 3meters. The previous tenant used it only for administrative purposed which made it oppressive. The walls themselves are part of the structural system and hence they have remained intact. Firstly, the aim was to introduce elements that are bright, airy, and full of promise of creating unique experiences for each of their clients as well the team.

The East facing central area acts as a multi-nodal transition area for different activities and also stitches the south and north space of the studio. It changes into multiple moods as the use of the space demands from being a waiting area to a material exploration session to carrying out causal conversation with a cup of tea and some snacks to also making space for worshipping god before starting the day. It draws inspiration from the gentle waves of nature, this serene corner is designed to bring balance and creativity of the work place. From the soothing blue tones to the curated textures, every detail speaks of minimalism and mindfulness.

The temple platform is raised by using traditional chair legs to add a touch of Indianness to the space additionally supported by textured surfaces to create a backdrop for the idols. And bring in positivity. The material library shelves are supported by blue stain polished veneer console holding in material samples for discussions and a bench. The bench is made out of teak wood and rattan adding traditional twist to the space.

Furthermore, on the either side of the central area are the workspaces. The larger room is the yellow room that occupies the working area for the two founders of the studio along with a formal meeting table for discussions while the smaller room is an occupied by the team for production. This space is crafted by using materials in its pure form. As one enters the space, the yellow stone table top with blue metal legs and a vertical grey board greets with welcoming atmosphere. The board is used for carrying out permutations of design ideas and mood boards. The wooden storage separates the two work desks for functional uses. The window on the east wall of the room brings in ample natural light for carrying out activities while keeping the user connected with the outside.

The furniture of the space is designed keeping in mind the modular nature of the studio. Each furniture is designed to be disassembled whenever needed. The white painted glass top of the central table allows to have direct explanations through sketches and texts on the table. The central table is complimented by blue metal leg holding wooden storage box on metal bushers. By shaping the spatial relationships, they have crafted the users' activity scripts.

Lastly, they preserved the history of this space. The industrial nature of the space is kept intact through exposed concrete ceiling and wiring and metal surfaces. The new parts quirk the space through use of warm and cold colour shades.  In contrast to the heavy and permanent original structure, this transparent and adaptable construction approach creates a light and welcoming atmosphere, transforming the office space into a dynamic and inspiring workshop for architects.
