“Thirai” is a home crafted in response to a west-facing site bordered on three sides. The primary challenge was achieving diffused light and ventilation while protecting the interiors from severe western heat. The solution emerged through calibrated openings and shading strategies that admit breeze and soft light, yet keep the harsh sun out. Inside, the spaces flow freely into one another, with interconnected balconies that keep the family visually and spatially connected throughout the home.
