An hypothetical thought of generating a form of energy from the natural environment to transform the internal spaces through a medium which enhances the indoor environment leads us to generating a more comfortable atmosphere to embrace.

As a small intervention of air passing through the holes of flutes or passing through the vibrations created by the guitar ends up having a soothing sound or tune, inspired by this philosophy we started developing voids in the built volumes to encourage interaction between the outdoor and indoor spaces through cross ventilation and light penetrations encouraging to achieve spaces liveable in a dense built fabric.

A young family having a dream of living in a home which enhances their ambitions and also which encourages their energy to live a life of happiness with an obvious choice of comfort and aesthetics.

Couple being practising doctors having a toddler required a 3BHK along with entertainment room and an outdoor space to rejuvenate during there occasional breaks, desired a space reflecting the energy of their son and the colour full personality yet humble nature of the couple. With the site area being a constraint, the clients were optimistic to design and embrace which each of the spaces had to offer.

Site being in the middle of a dense built fabric and the area allotted for construction being 1200 sq. ft., we had to stack up volumes vertically to achieve the requirement of the clients.

As the concept note suggests we started to intervene and scoop out masses in the volumes stacked to build the connection between the outdoor and the indoor environment. Creating interesting forms and perforations in the North façade helped us achieve abundant light and ventilation throughout the internal areas. Penetrations of lights through skylights enhanced our indoor light quality and encourage us to have double height spaces creating interaction spaces from different floors.

The planning opts to be an open plan concept with less intervention of walls in the public areas and tried to contrast itself in the private zones by creating a cozier built form. Interesting sections we created to achieve double height spaces which in turn bridged communication with different floors along with play of light through the voids.

Subtle tones of colour and texture run throughout the residence with an introduction of one striking colour at space intervals balances the colour palette.
