Situated on the corner site of an elite residential cluster on the outskirts of Eastern part of Pune city, this monochromatic boxy architecture has been designed as “focal point”, differentiating itself from the boring uniformity of the neighborhood.

This bungalow is a refined sculptural object, a modernist composition honed for its urban setting while the design reinterprets the typology of a traditional Indian House. The design process was solely based on form, orientation, and sunlight.

The building is placed on the site after careful consideration of climatic conditions. By orienting the bungalow facing North Side, the Architects are efficiently able to capture and use the Sun for natural light and passive cooling. This approach not only saves energy by reducing the lighting and cooling cost but also is better for the user’s health and well-being.

All the Public and private spaces are such oriented that they bring in more light and ventilation inside. This is an exposed structure with an expressive use of modern material emphasizing the pure geometrical architectural character.
