Aurum: A Home Bathed in Golden Light and Timeless Warmth

Bathed in golden hues of peach, Aurum is a home that captures the essence of warmth, light, and earthiness. Designed to embrace the changing moods of the sun, this home transforms throughout the day, creating dynamic scene changes where architecture and interiors harmoniously interact.

Our clients, a doctor couple, envisioned a simple yet soulful home—one that grounds them in nature and offers a deep sense of connection. This vision shaped our design approach, beginning with an orientation that maximizes the scenic beauty surrounding the site. An architectural skin defines the bungalow, where a wave-like from frames the distant mountains, while another edge creates a structured frame to the capture the lush garden in front.

A defining feature of Aurum is its bespoke brickwork, developed with a unique spherical detail. These bricks interlock to form a rhythmic circular pattern, lending the façade a textured and sculptural identity. This motif extends seamlessly throughout the home—circles and spheres appear in architectural cutouts, staircase details, furniture elements, and curated artifacts, weaving a cohesive narrative across the interiors and exteriors.

The staircase, a key spatial experience, features circular cutouts that cast ever-shifting light and shadow patterns, ensuring privacy while maintaining openness. A skylight above the staircase floods the space with natural light, functioning as a sundial where the play of light marks the passage of time.

A carefully curated material palette enhances the home’s warmth. The floors echo a peach-and-white color-blocked scheme, extending across the home. Soft pastel greens flow through upholstery and furniture, creating a refreshing aesthetic. The living and dining spaces continue this language, with warm acacia wood furniture adding depth and richness. The bedrooms embrace minimalism, reflecting the overall architectural ethos of the home.

What makes Aurum truly unique is its deep connection to its context. Every detail—from the façade to the smallest furniture accents—contributes to a seamless, immersive experience where architecture and interiors speak the same language.
