Living earth architecture designed ‘Divya Nivas’ located in Kanhangad with the optimum ratio of openings with jalis, large windows, and skylights bringing positivity to the house.

The house is designed in such a way that provides maximum openness and connections between the common areas by aligning the living, dining, and kitchen area in a single-line structure. A courtyard with indoor plants, jalis, and skylight has been provided connecting the common spaces and providing natural light and ventilation. Double-layered clay roofing tiles provide thermal insulation reducing the heat inside the house further improving the indoor environment quality.

A number of walls have been significantly reduced by restricting only to private spaces reducing the cost of construction. Floor level difference defines the boundary of different spaces.

Providing a balcony with jalis on the west side penetrates the western wind. The exposed jalis, laterite stone, and plastering help to achieve a natural look to the elevation.

Tandoor stone pavement with grass in between and natural grass lawns helps to reduce surface runoff of rainwater. The unique car porch and compound wall design complement the house design, making the elevation eye-catching.
