This House was designed for the very traditional family rooted to the basics of town-village culture. This house was designed as a penthouse and a blank slab of the existing building structure with a grid of 9’ x 10 ‘ column structure was given to them (architect). The existing building is used for commercial purposes as a south facade with retail shops and a school on the first floor.

Slab with 35’ x 90’ available on the second floor to design house for the client. The building faced to the south side main road of the town village and the south side facade was open to the main road opposite with boys hostel building and family residences. The challenge was to design the south side facade house with a traditional look and facilities of living spaces.

On the second floor house welcomes with a warm terracotta jali tile lobby and open angan space with pergola touching blues. Every morning will be celebrated with this east side angan space welcoming morning sun entering into the house. Interior first space was designed with a welcoming living space with a mural of Krishna on the front wall and open dining and kitchen space. Grand TV panel with dark wooden laminate adding extra touch to the living space.

Open kitchen slightly covered with partition and opening towards the south facade balcony with jali covered with square punctures to see the outer view. The south façade jali wall has a different character to the balcony lobby. All sides are covered with brick tiles and plasterwork details. Interiors are based on the theme of mouldings line work to create warm spaces. Tile work for the lobby area is designed with line work to create an interesting pathway as a boundary to the house.

Nights of this house are very delightful to celebrate with front angan space. The complete house was the focus point in the context of the sustainability factor, where the facade was designed with terracotta brick tiles and jali walls which help to prevent it from the sun's heat rays.
