Durga Niwas by Studio Parametric curiosity India

Durga Niwas, constructed using Eco friendly materials, comprises of basement, stilt parking, and four floors including a duplex for the owners on the top. All levels are seamlessly connected through a single circulation core. The ingenuity of design lies in the integration of services, discreetly hidden yet easily accessible and maintainable. All the levels are finished without a false ceiling with prior planning to lighting and HVAC services eventually increasing height and volume of small spaces. 

Aesthetically, the building stands out with its immaculate and minimalistic exteriors with architectural details designed for a durable and timeless facade. The highlight of design is the central skylight positioned above a flying staircase in the duplex. This ingenious addition harnesses the light from the sky, defying the natural light restrictions imposed by row housing structures. The skylight acts as a light buffer, transforming the otherwise darker central area into an inviting and tranquil space.
