Nestled amidst Maharashtra's lush landscapes, this farmhouse, designed by Roheena Nagpal, exemplifies a delicate balance of modern minimalism with rustic charm. It reflects a harmonious blend with its natural surroundings, using organic elements throughout the design to create a sanctuary that exudes peace, comfort, and the joys of organic living. The entrance, paved with Gokak stone and framed by palm trees, sets the tone for this nature-inspired abode, featuring a grand double-door handcrafted in Jodhpur. Each plank is burnt meticulously for a unique texture, underscoring the attention to detail that flows throughout the space.

Upon entering, the absence of false ceilings preserves the raw slab's authenticity, coated with lime paint to maintain an organic aesthetic. The expansive windows, engineered for wind resistance, invite panoramic views of the valley into the home. Designed to face south, the house remains cool, with minimal northern openings and double-layered walls that enhance insulation. The open plan maximizes the breathtaking vista, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces, complemented by verdant indoor plants and heritage decor pieces.

Central to the living area is a two-century-old Naga table, surrounded by modern sofas and antique elements, embodying a timeless blend of past and present. Cane lights from Nagaland hang delicately from white lime-washed wooden rafters, adding a warm, ambient glow while concealing electrical wiring to maintain clean visual lines. The kitchen, a culinary enthusiast's dream, features a 10-foot granite island by Plank And Weave, positioned to take full advantage of the serene valley views visible through sliding glass doors.

The home is designed to showcase the stunning valley view, with an expansive glass frontage replacing traditional walls. This design allows for a sweeping panorama, stretching from the gardens to the swimming pool and across to the vegetable garden. Inside, the home's lighting is a highlight, with cane lights handwoven in Nagaland, hanging from wooden rafters painted with rustic white lime. A striking kitchen island, crafted from black Indian granite, serves as a modern focal point, contrasting beautifully with the rustic elements of the space. A playful splash of color is introduced through two unique blue rustic doors, adding vibrancy to the home’s neutral tones.

Throughout the home, details such as hand-chiseled Gokak stone walls, bespoke black antique locks on contrasting blue and white rustic doors, and a curated mix of vintage copper utensils tell a story of history and craftsmanship. The decor extends to thoughtfully placed elements like a mirror casually propped against a wall, adding an unexpected yet charming touch.
