Kavya Kutiram - Kerala’s essence, softened by nature’s breath

The space is designed for the family of three- aworking couple and their kid, being a native south Indian; theywanted the design inspired by the timeless heritage and beauty of Kerala. Hence, the palette is rooted in nature with earthy browns and greens. The moodboard captures the essence of warm and earthy tones. Kerala’s traditional architectural elements also play a vital role in keeping the integrity of whole concept.

From the entrance foyer itself, the tone for the entire interior is set. Square wooden rafters on the ceiling enhance the architectural character, inspired by Kerala’s vernacular style.Incorporating a two-tone paint scheme with stucco wall adds character and visual interest to the foyer. The polished wooden border between stucco and earthy green colour differentiates as well as merges the colour and textures of the wall. The earthy green shade and beige with stucco texture on wall is chosen very thoughtfully considering the vernacular essence. Flooring in polished Kota completes the look. A wooden console with veneer finish, decorative carved woodenmirrors and brass artefacts are reflecting the concept details.
