Louvered House by Abhay Pise & Associates

The bungalow is designed with a horizontal louver façade to create perfect privacy as well as decrease harsh sunlight from the southern side. this 9000 sq. ft. corner plot is located on the main streets of town, in a neighborhood composed of dense dwelling units. This bungalow is a perfect balance between public and private spaces that divides the functions on different levels while maintaining visual connections through central space.

Taking advantage of the level difference of 5 feet slope at the corner end all services of parking, servant’s rooms, and stores are placed at the lower ground floor which is the ground floor at the corner end connected to internal stairs and lift to the all floors. Inside the house, this connecting central space becomes the nexus around which the entire plan revolves. The main entry door opens to let one into the Grand double height skylight area & living room area which have connected landscape sit-out areas.

This luxury Home, interiors are a curated blend of exotic Natural marble and natural wood with a gray color palate & geometrical cutting design pattern which is a design element that reflects on walls, ceiling panels, and doors as well. The ground floor would consist of a living room, kitchen dining, parent’s bedroom & guest bedroom. The living, dining & parent's bedroom are connected to individual landscape sit-outs. The Main Feature element is Double Height Open to sky Areas a part of the living area. The first floor would consist of a Master Bedroom with a balcony sit-out covered with horizontal wooden louvers to create privacy, a daughter's bedroom & another Guest bedroom with a small family sit-out.

The terrace floor level is an interesting part of a house with all the Recreational Facilities of a Home theatre, a small gym, a spa area with a Jacuzzi & huge covered landscape terrace. As the plot is located in a dense dwelling we decided to create a landscape area on the top floor with perfect relaxation facilities. The louvered house is a contemporary house meeting the modern needs of the residents and fulfilling the Architectural and Interior Design Aesthetics.
