Nestled within the cultural embrace of Kochi, The Portico, Manjal emerges as a culinary haven, seamlessly blending the rich heritage of Kerala with simple contemporary design. An open-plan restaurant design that incorporates an amazing view of natural greenery offers a harmonious blend of architecture and nature, creating an inviting and tranquil dining experience. The open-plan layout maximizes the flow of natural light and air throughout the space, seamlessly connecting the indoor dining area with the outdoor natural surroundings. This open-air restaurant is a celebration of flavors, architecture, and sustainability, where every element is thoughtfully crafted to provide an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant's design embraces the rich cultural heritage of Kerala, with traditional elements blended harmoniously with modern architecture. Open-sided structures ensure an unobstructed view of the surroundings, allowing patrons to soak in the breathtaking sunsets and starlit nights and maximum landscape elements ensure the smooth blend with its natural context.

The main part of the design functionally is the central kitchen which works as a cloud kitchen format supplying food to other branches etc. The restaurant or the dining area attached to this modern A frame structure is done in a traditional design typology with an open plan and sustainable elements such as Mangalore clay tiles for the roofing and black Kota stone, Kadapa as flooring elements in various spaces. The design also consists of an upper closed dining area and a small party hall which also ensures a grandeur view of the scenery outside and is positioned right above the main kitchen. Furniture is crafted from upcycled materials. Tables and chairs could be made from reclaimed wood or responsibly sourced materials, with simple, elegant designs that contribute to the overall minimalist aesthetic. The seamless integration of the natural landscape, sustainable materials, and eco-conscious practices creates a space that is not only beautiful but also mindful of its impact on the planet.
