The project is located in Mathilagam , serene coastal settlement enriched by the presence of a nearby beach. The site offers a tranquil ambiance, enhanced by the gentle rhythm of coastal life and the natural landscape that surrounds it. That seeks harmony between built form, nature, and tradition.

The residence was envisioned as a tranquil family retreat that embraces togetherness while maintaining a deep connection with nature. Designed for a client residing with his parents and three children, the home is planned entirely around the idea of seamless interaction and accessibility.

The upper floor is intentionally minimal, accommodating only a single multipurpose space - a flexible area envisioned as a study and play zone for the children. This elevated perch offers a sense of freedom and creativity, overlooking the life and warmth of the courtyard below.

The architectural language emphasizes simplicity and harmony - where spatial flow, natural materials, and soft light together create an atmosphere of calm domesticity. The design reflects a thoughtful balance between functionality and emotion - a home that nurtures family bonds while celebrating everyday moments within nature's quiet frame.

Natural light and ventilation have been given utmost importance throughout the residence. Four courtyards are placed strategically to enhance these aspects, ensuring every corner remains lively and bright. Responding to the client's request for all primary spaces to be located on the ground floor, the layout unfolds around a central courtyard — a breathing core that brings in light, air, and a sense of openness. Each room visually and physically connects to this courtyard, allowing constant engagement with the outdoors while ensuring privacy and comfort for every family member.

“A home where the courtyard becomes the heart of light, silence, and shared moments.”
