Between the cities chaos and rural calm this sustainable retreat, invites one to relax from the hectic schedules of daily routine into the natural habitat. The site is situated on the outskirts of Vadodara city, having site area of 30,000 sqft with 1,500 sqft area built up. Surrounded by lush green open plots, the site context is an opportunity where, architecture responds sensitively to nature through material palette and spatial openness.

Sustainability forms the core philosophy for the design, where material palette plays an important role. Evolving from ecological sensibilities, the ground beams were formed within the cavities of brick walls and RCC slurry poured to bind and strengthen—transforming construction logic into an expressive architectural language of efficiency and craft.

The walls are constructed primarily using different brick bond joineries, which are working as self-shaded structures in hot and dry climates. Curved brick walls are shaped on site through skilled hands, translating design intent into built form, where material, labor, and geometry come together to define the architectural character of place.

Farmhouse weaves the geometries, exposed in brick details, locally sourced stone, and recycled materials, the design celebrates raw textures and craftsmanship balancing the environmental impact. The built form is fragmented into distinct volumes, allowing landscape, light, and air to flow freely between spaces. Curved and angular geometries coexist in a rhythmic composition, shaped by courtyards and transitional movement. Profiles of sloping roof and glazed central volume act as strong visual and spatial form that to draw natural light deep into the interiors. Handcrafted details, patterned flooring, and artisanal elements add layers of cultural expression.

The built mass has consciously thought height variations, into different volumes to invite daylight and have free forms. These height forms, advantages to have space segregations as per functions and invite for open pocket in the center of green space. Open pocket turns as a playful gated court for the users and small kids.

Architecturally, the design balances curved and angular geometries in a rhythmic composition. Soft curves introduce fluidity and movement, while sharp angular forms provide structure and contrast. These geometries are thoughtfully oriented around courtyards and transitional zones, making movement through the farmhouse an experiential journey rather than a linear circulation. Sloping roof profiles respond to climatic conditions while adding a dynamic silhouette to the built form. At the heart of the composition, a glazed central volume acts as a visual and spatial anchor, drawing abundant natural light deep into the interiors and fostering a strong connection between different functional zones.

Interiors are conceived as extensions of the architectural language, where handcrafted details enrich spatial character. Patterned flooring, custom-designed elements, and artisanal finishes introduce layers of cultural expression and warmth. These details encourage aesthetic purposes alongwith sensory involvement to sooth one’s senses. Light and shadow animate surfaces throughout the day, transforming spaces with changing moods and atmospheres.

Art is treated as an integral element embedded within the architecture. The bathrooms unfold as resort-inspired sanctuaries within the farmhouse. Taking inspiration from aquatic and natural surrounding elements, the bathrooms, depict wall and floor arts where the fixtures are also carved inside stone joiners to have shower feel. Such themes are attracted by kids and engage them more in relaxing themselves to enjoy. Experiencing nature and encouraging sensory experience, materials like stone, reclaimed wood, handcrafted tiles, and pebbled floors invite a dialogue with nature.

Designed as immersive sensory retreats, these spaces dissolve conventional boundaries between built form and nature. Materials such as stone, reclaimed wood, handcrafted tiles, and pebbled floors create rich tactile experiences underfoot and to the touch. Natural light, ventilation, and carefully framed views further enhance the sense of calmness.
