The client, already a partner in several successful restaurants across Gujarat,approached Ekam Design Studio with a clear vision for an efficient and functional dining space. The restaurant’s zero food-wastage philosophy became a key inspiration for the project, influencing its planning, materiality, and overall experience. Working within a rented space and a demanding timeline, the studio carefully coordinated every process to deliver the project efficiently. One of the main challenges was the existing ceiling height of over 11 feet, requiring thoughtful design interventions to create a sense of proportion and intimacy while retaining the openness of the space.

The material palette combines micro-cement walls, prefabricated joinery, and hand-laid China mosaic flooring. The fluid, terrazzo-like mosaic became the project’s defining element, flowing across curved platforms and connecting different seating zones without introducing additional structural walls. Warm terracotta and blush tones create a soft and welcoming atmosphere, while cane-back chairs and cascading magnolia branches add warmth and a sense of comfort. At the heart of the space, an open mocktail and coffee counter, clad in sage-green fluted tiles and patterned ceramics, becomes a focal point, bringing the preparation process into view. A sculptural wave mirror and the glowing sign, “This Is Our Happy Place,” complete a dedicated social corner designed for interaction and shareable moments.
