The residence located in the heart of Pune is a conscious effort to step aside from an urban representation of a home and instead goes down the journey of exploring the realms of intrinsically Indian design.

Thoughtful interventions to the design have led to the creation of a home that renders a streamlined spatial flow that aligns with the clients’ requirements. A lucid planning that experiments in porosity is witnessed all throughout. The design journey involved reclaiming archaic & heirloom furniture and exploring classic patterns inspired from cultural art. The juxtaposition of grey palette with teak wood, motifs and an unapologetic use of patterns gives the home the indigenous look. A project where go back in time to create a timeless experience.

While the overall style of the house is modern, in the living room and all the other spaces, once we take a closer look, the house makes acute references to Indian roots with soft furnishings and traditional decor elements. You find yourself seamlessly transitioning to the living room which is drenched in subtle grey hues and the space is expressed through intriguing combination of micro-concrete, cane, wood and glass.

The wooden arch guides the way to the kitchen. Light grey kitchen cabinets with European frames topped with a white quartz counter top create a striking contrast with the fish backsplash tiles which brings together all the calming shades of blue. The fluted glass in cabinets breaks the monotony of the otherwise grey kitchen with classic grey tiles. The brass knobs add an elegant twist to the space.
