Party lovers, workaholics & well-travelled, a millennial couple briefed them to design an extravagant and luxurious abode to unwind with their Gen Z daughter & host their lavish soirees. Ardent lovers of Roman architecture with a desire for Renaissance art dreamt of a space that eluded acquisitiveness through intricate details and forms of art.

Understanding these dreams, they decided to go back to the era of Marcus Aurelius and Leonardo Da Vinci. They envisaged to design a space that drew inspiration from the Roman architecture of the Renaissance era.

“The Roman Eros” as they love to call this project located in a posh Mumbai neighbourhood gave them an impressive 12 ft. ceiling to play with. So, they followed an intuitive & strategic design approach using Rome-inspired columns, arches & vaults to accentuate the height and add a palatial volume to the long horizontal corridors of this house.

A beautiful coherence is built through all the spaces by marrying the majesty of Roman details with somewhat minimalist modern colours & textures. Renaissance art, including paintings, has also had a great influence on this project. Whether in the form of a statement mosaic wall or a chapel-inspired painted ceiling.

The entire house follows a light and airy palette with intricate moulding & fluted details adding an exquisite opulence to this space that they call The Roman Eros.
