This interior project features a modern contemporary interior design style with elements of minimalism and organic modernism. The dominant use of ecru, ivory, sand and taupe gives a calm and luxurious feel typical of modern and minimalist design. The design language speaks in quiet tones, drawing inspiration from raw, tactile materials and soft, biomorphic shapes that evoke a deep connection to nature. The emphasis on texture over color allows natural materials to speak for themselves. Bouclé, rough-hewn stone, hand-thrown ceramics, soft wool rugs, and brushed metals all layer together to deliver a multisensory experience.

Tanvi and Harsh, a power couple who built a successful men's wear apparel brand from the ground up, had a vision as distinctive as their business for their first self-owned home in Bangalore. Their lives are a whirlwind of travel, hard work, and a passion for techno music. During our initial discussions they described a space that could accommodate their work-intensive lives while nurturing a warm family atmosphere and host lively gatherings for their active social life. Their vision was clear: a space that embraced their quirks while also serving as a sanctuary—where they could create memories freely, and their children could be themselves.

Before beginning the design process, we followed our usual practice of sitting down with the couple to understand their lifestyle, preferences, and idiosyncrasies. The result? A home brimming with hidden curiosities, plush coziness, and personalized elements that make it distinctly theirs. Surrounded by printed fabrics all day, they desired a visual respite at home. The living and master suites were designed with a clean, contemporary feel, offering a striking contrast to the vibrant, colorful spaces created for the children.

The spatial configuration of this 5-bedroom apartment was thoughtfully reimagined to enhance both function and flow, transforming it into a well-balanced 4-bedroom residence. One of the original bedrooms was restructured to create a generous walk-in wardrobe while also integrating a sculptural marble mandir, now positioned at the spiritual and spatial heart of the home. Strategically placed along the main corridor, the mandir anchors the private zones and is accessible from all bedrooms, underscoring its symbolic and architectural significance.

Upon entering through a private lift lobby, residents and guests are welcomed into a warm, luxurious foyer. To the right of the main entrance unfolds the public zone — a flowing ensemble of a hidden powder bathroom, living, and dining areas, all visually extended by a parallel outdoor deck that invites natural light and a connection to the outdoors. At the heart of this zone stands a hand-carved stone mural set within a graceful arch, forming a sculptural focal point that draws the eye down the passage. Flanking this central installation are two curved bouclé waiting chairs, subtly delineating the dining and living spaces while enhancing the tactile richness of the design. This composition not only introduces a sense of ceremonial elegance but also anchors the spatial narrative of the home.

The serene and sculptural living room, the essence of organic modernism unfolds through a harmonious blend of texture, tone, and form. Anchored by voluptuous, cloud-like bouclé sofas arranged in a conversational arc, the space evokes softness and balance. At the center, a striking black panda marble coffee table introduces a tactile interplay of smooth stone against plush textile, while its asymmetrical silhouette mirrors the room’s natural fluidity. It pairs effortlessly with the vertical stone panels and ribbed cabinetry, continuing the theme of refined naturalism. The walls serve as a quietly powerful backdrop, treated in a subtle lime wash finish that enhances the organic feel of the room. The hand-applied texture creates gentle tonal variations that shift with the light, adding depth and movement without overpowering the minimalist palette.

The left wing is dedicated to the private quarters, beginning with the arched mandir, framed in traditional pichhwai-inspired art and exquisitely carved in white marble. Poised at the intersection of the passage, it creates a sacred moment of pause and reverence. Opposite the mandir is the twin children’s bedroom, while the parents’ and daughter’s rooms are thoughtfully positioned on the eastern side to welcome the morning light. The master suite, located in the western wing, offers a private sanctuary with expansive proportions and serene spatial isolation.

This carefully curated configuration balances ritual and retreat, openness and intimacy. It captures the spirit of organic modernism, where sculptural detailing, artisanal craftsmanship, and functional clarity come together to create a home that is as emotionally resonant as it is visually refined.

During the design process, Tanvi and Harsh discovered they were expecting twins, necessitating a shift in plans. The guest room was reimagined as a nursery inspired from Dior Nammos, Dubai featuring a blue zoo-themed wallpaper by Dolce Bambino and cane sandwiched in glass wardrobes to complete the narrative.

Their three-year-old daughter, Kiyara, had her own creative aspirations—she envisioned a pink room with whimsical dragonflies. Her dream materialized in a soft, curved space with a forest-themed mural wallpaper by House of Kaji, where lifelike dragonflies seemingly flutter from the walls.

The couple’s parents desired a tranquil space infused with nature-inspired hues for a peaceful retreat in their golden years. We designed an oak veneer-finished TV unit with a sage green fluted panel, which also served as the backdrop for a mixed-media artwork. A plush light gray accent chair and sheer curtains allowed ample natural light to filter in, connecting the space to the greenery outside. The use of gray marble brings in clean lines and a depth of sophistication.

The bedroom adjacent to the master was transformed into a bespoke walk-in closet and study, seamlessly connected to the master suite. While black is often unconventional in Indian homes, it takes center stage here. The striking black marble bed backdrop is paired with leather-finished curved panelling and a lime-wash texture that extends onto the ceiling. The TV wall features custom stucco stone skin panelling, fluted wood-finish drawers, and a marble-fronted design, creating a seamless blend of textures. A cozy reading nook bridges the master suite and the walk-in closet, with ecru duco-finished fluted panelling and a leather-wrapped decorative light fixture. Further enriching the space, we introduced fluted glass dividers, black leather shelving in the study, and an opulent rose gold and black island in the walk-in closet—exuding understated quiet luxury.

The USP of this project lies in its ability to seamlessly blend organic modernism with personal, fashion-forward elements. The design doesn’t just create a beautiful living space — it serves as a reflection of the client’s lifestyle and brand. Every corner of the home thoughtfully incorporates bespoke craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and custom finishes that reflect a refined, contemporary aesthetic.

What sets it apart is the integration of monochromatic artifacts, mixed-media art, and fashion-inspired textures throughout the space. These elements elevate the design, transforming it from simply being a home to a true extension of the client’s apparel brand. The way the interiors mimic fabrics, textures, and layers in art and furniture ties back to their creative ethos, making the project a perfect marriage of art, architecture, and fashion.

This, combined with meticulous attention to detail in every aspect — from custom stone panels and hand-carved murals to carefully chosen colour palettes — creates a home that is distinct, personal, and deeply intentional. The USP is in its bold expression of individuality while maintaining harmonious, timeless design.

By day, the living area glows with earthy hues and tactile finishes, creating a grounded, serene atmosphere. By night, it shifts into a vibrant social hub, complete with a hidden bar unit and surround sound system that elevate the mood for entertaining. At its core is a striking 10-foot floating TV unit, anchoring the space with a 98-inch screen and sleek electric fireplace, all bathed in natural light that blurs the boundary between indoor comfort and outdoor calm.

But this residence is more than just a showcase of thoughtful design — it’s an immersive experience. Smart home automation by Keus enables seamless transitions, whether it's an intimate family dinner or a lively gathering with friends.

For Tanvi and Harsh, every corner of the home narrates a story — of their travels, creative influences, and the carefully chosen details that shape their everyday life.
