Nestled in the historic city of Firozabad, this 17,000 sq.ft. private luxury residence is divided into three self-sufficient sections, one for each brother’s family and one central portion for the parents, all connected through a common architectural language.

Each unit has a dedicated entrance, an independent living and bedroom suites & Clear internal circulation. Despite this separation, the façade composition, material palette, moulding profiles, and flooring language remain consistent throughout, ensuring the house reads as a single entity rather than segmented structures.

Spatial axes were aligned carefully so that the overall massing feels symmetrical. Transitional spaces act as subtle connectors without compromising privacy. The configuration allows proximity without intrusion — a delicate architectural balance.

The clients — two brothers, their respective families, and their parents — envisioned a residence that would allow them to live together while maintaining privacy and individuality. The brief was to design a unified home built in three distinct parts, each with its own entry and functional independence, yet visually and emotionally perceived as one cohesive estate. The family sought a home that embodied dignity, permanence, and quiet luxury — a structure that reflected their shared legacy while respecting personal boundaries.

The design language can be described as Neo-Classical Contemporary, where classical symmetry and architectural detailing are reinterpreted through a modern, restrained lens. The aesthetic bridges heritage and present-day living, much like the family structure it houses.

The central inspiration for the project was the idea of “unity within individuality.” Architecturally, the residence was envisioned to read as a single grand manor while internally functioning as three independent homes. The key design concepts included a unified façade language to maintain architectural coherence, distinct internal zoning to ensure privacy, strong axial alignments to create visual continuity, and a shared design vocabulary across all three units. While the architectural expression draws inspiration from European classical symmetry, the planning strategy is deeply rooted in Indian multi-generational living traditions.

The primary challenge was achieving structural and visual unity across three separate zones. Maintaining façade symmetry while accommodating three distinct internal layouts required careful planning.

Another complexity was coordinating services independently for each unit while preserving seamless architectural detailing. The execution of large-scale mouldings and marble work across segmented volumes demanded high precision to avoid visual discontinuity.

The project relied on precision craftsmanship and detailed site execution. Key materials include italian marble flooring with inlay borders, book-matched marble feature walls, custom MDF mouldings finished in duco paint, brushed brass and gold-toned accents, textured upholstery in neutral palettes.

Architectural panelling was site-crafted and proportioned meticulously to maintain lightness across large surfaces. Integrated lighting within moulded frames enhances depth and continuity across all three residences.

Explain the use of colours and/or other details to add value to the design. The palette revolves around ivories, warm whites, taupes, and deep browns, layered with muted gold accents. This restrained colour scheme reinforces visual unity across the three sections. Monochromatic artwork and controlled metallic detailing add sophistication without overwhelming the spaces. The repetition of moulding profiles and flooring patterns across all units strengthens the sense of a shared identity. Colour, in this case, becomes a binding element — subtly reinforcing that while there are separate homes, there is one collective narrative.

The most compelling aspect is the way the residence reads as a single manor from the exterior while internally functioning as three autonomous homes. The architectural continuity across façades and interiors creates a powerful sense of belonging and shared legacy. The marble feature walls framed in backlit architectural borders remain defining visual moments within each unit.

The USP lies in its ability to resolve a complex family structure architecturally. Few residences successfully balance independence and unity at this scale. The Ivory Manor is not just a luxury residence — it is a spatial interpretation of a multi-generational family system. It demonstrates how architecture can foster togetherness without sacrificing privacy.

At its core, the project is about coexistence. It reflects how modern Indian families are evolving — seeking proximity, yet valuing autonomy.

The Ivory Manor stands as a physical manifestation of shared heritage, designed to grow with the family across generations.
