The Torfenster × Colour Coats showroom is conceived as a contemporary experiential space that merges architectural precision with material expression. The design balances clean linear planning with subtle curves, creating a seamless interplay between structure and surface.

Full-height glazing framed in slender aluminium sections enhances transparency and invites abundant natural light, while metallic and textured finishes establish a distinctive interior identity. Carefully detailed junctions, controlled lighting, and uninterrupted display planes add depth and visual continuity throughout the space.

Overall, the showroom presents a refined yet impactful environment, defined by clarity, material richness, and a modern architectural sensibility that elevates the experience of product display.

This showroom is driven by the concept of Material Continuum, where movement, material interaction, and visual focus seamlessly coexist within a unified spatial experience. The idea is expressed through a clear linear circulation path, gentle curves in key spatial elements, and uninterrupted sightlines across the showroom.

A neutral palette of warm whites and earthy tones forms a calm base, allowing metallic, textured, and patterned finishes to stand out as focal elements. Aluminium-framed glazing introduces transparency and natural light, while large display walls and sample counters define functional zones without the need for physical partitions.

Reception of Torfenster X Colour Coats by Urban Space Architects

The entry from the road leads directly into the Panel Display Area, which forms the primary visual spine of the showroom. This immediate exposure ensures visitors are welcomed by Colour Coats’ finish panels as the first experience.

Adjacent to the panel display is the Workstation zone, positioned strategically along the circulation path. This allows staff to engage with visitors without blocking movement while keeping the display wall constantly in view.

The central discussion area acts as the core of interaction, positioned strategically opposite the finish display wall so materials remain in constant visual reference during conversations. Supporting spaces such as the bar counter, niche displays, and sample library are integrated along the edges, maintaining spatial continuity while enhancing the experience.

Lighting plays a crucial role in reinforcing the concept. Wall washers, under-shelf lights, recessed niche lighting, and sculptural fixtures work together to highlight textures, guide movement, and create depth. The lighting not only illuminates but also directs attention and enhances material perception. The result is a contemporary experiential showroom that balances functionality with engagement—an environment where spatial planning, materiality, and lighting come together to create a fluid, cohesive, and immersive material experience.

Centrally located, the Samples Display counter acts as the tactile interaction point. Visitors can pick, compare, and study finishes here while remaining visually connected to the larger display panels.

Placed opposite the main display wall, the Discussion Room is proportioned for client meetings. Its position allows direct reference to both the sample counter and finish panels during material selection discussions.

Towards the inner side of the plan, the Bar Counter and Lounge create a relaxed interaction zone. The curved design language seen here softens the linear planning and encourages longer engagement.

The glazing line and marked window sections (W1, W2, W3… W11) along the periphery function as live fenestration exhibits, bringing daylight inside while demonstrating real installation conditions.

The Pantry, Toilets, Wardrobe, and DB box are tucked along the edges and behind panel/drywall elements. These remain hidden from primary sightlines, ensuring uninterrupted visual continuity.

The indicated raised area enhances the importance of the display section, subtly distinguishing it without physical barriers.

Glass partitions maintain openness between zones, while dummy drywall sections are used cleverly for branding without interrupting spatial flow.

The MD Room is placed deeper inside the plan for privacy while still connected to the main circulation. This allows focused discussions away from the display activity.

The plan follows a clear linear circulation:
Entry → Panel Display → Samples Counter → Discussion → Lounge/Bar → MD Room
At every point, visitors remain visually connected to finishes and fenestration systems.

The showroom is built on a calm base of warm white walls and matte light-toned flooring, creating a neutral backdrop that keeps attention on the displays. Metallic and textured finish panels by Colour Coats introduce depth, sheen, and tactile richness across the walls.

Aluminium frames and full-height glazing from Torf Fenster Systems bring transparency and natural light into the space, enhancing the reflectivity of the finishes. Wooden tones in the discussion table, cabinetry, and sample counters add warmth and balance, while soft seating in burnt orange provides a subtle accent.

Wall-washer lights, track lights, and niche lighting are carefully used to highlight textures and create a refined, welcoming material experience throughout the showroom.
